Recording & Broadcast Information
Description
Based on the eye witness account from David Deadman of the Official Johnny Cash Appreciation Society (UK) it seems that the show was longer than what the BBC broadcasted. In the 1968 issue of The Legend, he described it as "This was recorded at the BBC studio in Piccadilly, London ... The whole show was recorded, started off with Johnny doing some numbers, then introducing James Royal and the Royal set, for two numbers. Then, Johnny again, then Carl Perkins. Then Johnny again, then June and Johnny for 'Jackson', then June did two numbers of her own. Following this, Johnny and Carl came back on for 'The Old Account' with June, Johnny, then finished the show with 'Ring of Fire'. The show which was broadcast a few weeks ago was so popular that is has been booked for a repeat."
The audience was made up of members of the [Johnny Cash] Appreciation Society.
