The second of the three 'Highwaymen' albums that Cash made with Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson.
Outtakes from "Highwayman 2" includes Modern Gladiator (which, according to John L. Smith, was considered for inclusion on the album), Yabba Dabba Doo (performed regularly on the 1992 and 1993 Highwaymen tours) and Cowboy Hall of Fame (with Glen Campbell).
A video was shot for Silver Stallion.
A concert at the Nassau Colliseum in Uniondale, NY was filmed and released by Columbia/Sony Music. Released worldwide on VHS in the early 1990's, and reissued on DVD in Europe and Australia in 2006.
Reissue history for Highwayman 2:
CD repackaged by Sony Music Europe in 1993 on a two-CD set including also "Highwayman".
Combined with "Highwayman" on Sony Music's "Highwaymen: Super Hits" CD compilation.
Reissued on CD by Colbumbia/Legacy in 2012 as part of "The Complete Columbia Album Collection".
