The Confederates and a girl singer (vocals). The Confederates were a barbershop quartet that performed in the 1950's and 1960's. The group formed in September 1953 in Memphis, TN. They were notable not only for their championship-calibre harmonies, but also for performing in Confederate officer uniforms. They consisted of: George Evans - Tenor Dave LaBonte - Lead Bill "Bus" Busby - Baritone Wally Singleton - Bass
