April 8, 1970: Johnny Cash (vocal, guitar); Norman Blake (dobro); Carter Family: Maybelle, Anita, Helen June (vocal harmony); Marshall Grant (bass); WS Holland (drums); Carl Perkins, Bob Wootton (electric guitar). Material cut at this session was used for the soundtrack of the Columbia motion picture I WALK THE LINE starring Gregory Peck and Tuesday Weld. FLESH AND BLOOD was originally cut under the title YOU'RE THE ONE I NEED (see session August 10, 1969). The three masters shown as not included on the album (S-30397) were probably used in the film as additional background music. Master NCO 108596 is lost.
