What’s New in Johnny Cash Infocenter - June 2026
A monthly archive update from the Johnny Cash Infocenter, highlighting new additions, corrections, source material, discography work, and behind-the-scenes improvements from June 2026.
In June 2026, the Johnny Cash Infocenter focused on making the archive more connected, easier to read, and better prepared for future additions.
Much of this month’s work happened behind the scenes, but the results are visible across the site: clearer live show setlists, better performer context, improved links between recordings and releases, cleaner session and recording pages, and more consistent handling of source material across the archive.
This monthly update highlights selected work from across the archive. A full chronological overview of recent changes remains available through Latest Updates.
Highlights this month
Live show archive improvements
Work continued on improving the live show archive, especially around setlists, song links, performer credits, and source material. Behind the scenes, more setlist entries are being matched to their proper song records, improving consistency and laying the groundwork for stronger connections between live shows, songs, and performers.
Live setlists can now carry clearer performer context and item-level notes, helping distinguish between Johnny Cash performances, guest performances, shared performances, and special setlist details. These improvements make the live archive easier to review and prepare for future exploration by date, venue, song, and performer.
Session and recording pages
Session pages were also improved for readability and context. On session pages, visitors can more easily see which releases are connected to individual recordings or takes, including clearer issue information and cases where a take has no known issue data. Work also began on making those release connections more useful, so that linked releases can lead visitors onward to the release page and its track information.
Recording pages were improved as well, with clearer handling of overdubs and later recording layers. This helps separate the original session recording from later additions, and makes it easier to understand how a performance moved from the studio session into later release history. Personnel information is also easier to scan, especially where musicians appear across multiple takes or recordings within the same session, and session detail pages have been adjusted for better use on smaller screens.
