TV shows
The acting career of Johnny Cash started in 1959, when Cash made a guest appearance on the popular western TV series, Shotgun Slade. He continued to make small appearances on western shows such as Wagon Train, The Deputy, and The Rebel. In 1962, he starred in a half hour TV western called The Night Rider. From 1969 to 1971, Cash became a giant of the TV industry when he had his own television series on CBS, fittingly titled The Johnny Cash Show. In 1974 he appeared as a special guest star on Columbo. Two years later Cash had a spot on Little House on the Praire. In 1996 and 1997 Cash lent his acting talent to Renegade and The Simpsons respectively. In both shows, Cash was portrayed as a spiritual guide for the protagonist. From 1993 to 1997, Cash made four guest appearances, three of which he was alongside June Carter-Cash, on the western show Dr. Quin, Medicine Woman. Other notable appearances include his role as Davy Crockett in Disney's Rainbow in the Thunder, Chief John Ross in Trail of Tears, and John Brown in North and South.
