CashBack

The dictionary defines a flashback as a vivid memory of the past. When those memories are of the life and times of Johnny Cash, they are no ordinary flashbacks, they are CASHbacks. CASHback is a ride through those Cash-centric memories. You will hear about the Man, the myths, and the music. We will revisit the stories behind the people, the places, and the stories that made us fans and that made the Man in Black . . . the Man. Join us every week on a musical odyssey into the past. We bet you will tap your toe, sing along, and, hopefully, learn something you didn't know.

CASHback is hosted by the former Attorney General of Alabama, Troy King. Troy is a Cashologist and a country music historian.

CASHback airs on Johnny Cash Radio every day at 8am and 8pm, PST/PT Pacific Standard Time. After airing a full week on Johnny Cash Radio, you'll be able to download the show on this website.

This special episode features a musical history lesson in the people and the places and, of course, the music that made the man in Black the Man.

This week, our train celebrates the birthday of the Man, himself. Our show is two hours of music and memories. We’ll play your favorites like “Ring of Fire,” “Jackson,” and “I Walk the Line” and more obscure songs like “Sing It Pretty, Sue,” and rare cuts like a special version of “I Still Miss Someone.” You’ll hear how Cash became a legend whose shadow still dwarfs the rest of those on the musical landscape.

CASHback airs daily on johnnycashradio.com. At the conclusion of its run there, it will be available for download at theCASHbackShow.com.
